BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- One of the Democrats running for president is coming to Alabama. North Carolina Senator John Edwards will attend a campaign fundraiser in Birmingham Friday. Alabama is getting early attention from candidates this year because the presidential primary is one of the first. It’s currently set for February 5 instead of its usual June date.
