WASHINGTON Chicago teacher Rana Khan is to be Senator Barack Obama's guest at President Bush's State of the Union speech at the U-S Capitol tonight.
She teachers at Sexton Elementary School on Chicago's South Side and was recently named one of two recipients of the Milliken Family Foundation's National Educator Award.
Her fourth-grade students at the 100 percent African-American school with a high poverty rate consistently show significant growth on standardized academic exams and often show a two-to-three year growth.
