The 110th Congress: Bill Clinton Stops By

The 110th Congress: Bill Clinton Stops By
Spend a day on Capitol Hill and you never know who you'll run into

Former President Bill Clinton strolled into the Senate press gallery earlier today, causing something of a furor among the assembled media.
The reason for the visit? Purely practical. Clinton had to use the restroom and the closest one was deep in the belly of the media beast. Clinton joked that he had withstood his fair share of hits from the media and thought he could tough out one more visit. (He was in town to see his wife sworn in to a second term as the junior senator from New York.)
Before leaving with his entourage, Clinton took a few questions but largely read off the bipartisan songbook that has dominated the day. "I'll be surprised if we don't see a lot of interesting bipartisanship," he said.
And what about his wife's increasingly likely presidential campaign in 2008? "Ask her," Clinton replied.
