It's Barack & roll in poll

It's Barack & roll in poll
WASHINGTON - Sen. Barack Obama is leading Sen. Hillary Clinton for the first time in a New Hampshire poll - and he plans to meet soon with high rollers in the city to try to cut into her home turf. Obama leads the Democratic field in New Hampshire at 23%, followed by Clinton and former veep nominee John Edwards at 19%, according to a Zogby poll released yesterday.
"It's early, but it's good," said a source close to the Obama camp.
On the GOP side, Sen. John McCain of Arizona leads former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, 26% to 20%, the Zogby survey showed.
Clinton loyalists shrugged off Obama's stunning move upward in the key first-in-the-nation primary state, attributing it to the bounce from his announcement this week that he had formed a presidential exploratory committee.
The Illinois senator plans a Manhattan gathering in early February, the Daily News has learned. "It'll be a meet-and-greet with high rollers," the Obama source said.
It won't be the first time Obama has sat down with deep-pocketed New Yorkers. At a fund-raiser for the K.I.D.S. charity last month, he wooed fat-cat Democrats, including billionaire George Soros.
The Clinton camp was watching to see whether the New York senator's recent media blitz about her trip to Iraq and Afghanistan will give her a boost to reclaim the top spot in the polls in New Hampshire.
Clinton is trying to focus on Iraq and is dodging questions about Obama and the campaign.
Clinton-backer and ex-state Controller Carl McCall got a call this week from an Obama operative, who confirmed Obama is going to see if he can gain some ground with New Yorkers.
"The Obama thing is interesting, maybe even exciting, and I think will appeal to a lot of people," McCall told The Associated Press.
"He's been reaching out and is coming to New York soon and wants to meet with some people," said McCall, who remains in the Clinton camp. "I'll listen to him and maybe even give some advice."
