Gov. Bill Richardson will announce whether he’s going to run for president in 2008 sometime between Tuesday and the end of the month.
Rumors have circulated for months over whether Richardson will run, peaking last month when FOX News reported that he told them he would.
A spokesperson for the governor said then that FOX took a hypothetical statement out of context.
If he runs, he would join at least five other candidates: Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack, North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich, Delaware Sen. Joe Biden and Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd.
Other likely Democratic candidates are Illinois Sen. Barack Obama and former candidate John Kerry.
Possible Republican candidates include Chicago accountant John Cox, Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Arizona Sen. John McCain.
