As Congress begins its new session, there are no fewer than seven U.S. Senators and two members of the house considering a bid for President in 2008.
Much of the attention has been focused on New York's junior senator, Hillary Clinton, sworn in to begin her second term Thursday.

As Congress beings its new session, there are several Senators considering a bid for the White House in 2008. Senator Hillary Clinton says she's not ready to make any announcements yet.

She tells News 10 Now’s Bill Carey in Washington that she is not ready to make any announcements yet.
"Well, I'm obviously talking to people about it. That's something that I said I would. But, I'm also very excited about being in the majority here in the Senate. The presidential election is two years from now. What we're going to do here in the Senate starts today. I would like everybody to take a deep breath. The entire country, and certainly the press, and say, you know, let's show what we can do. Let's rebuild trust and confidence in our government. You know we have the greatest form of government, but it's not a surprise to anyone that a lot of the public's faith in government has been eroded over the last several years. So, let's try to rebuild that, because we have a lot of big changes facing us and I'm going to do my best, as a Senator from New York, to help bring about those changes that people in our state tell me they want," said Senator Clinton.
There has been pressure for Clinton to announce her candidacy as soon as possible, but there is no indication that any announcement is imminent.
